Mineral stories, thoughtful spaces and simple ways to look a little closer. An evolving notebook for the curious collector.
THE FIELD NOTE / 01
What light reveals.
Move a clear crystal from direct sun into gentle window light. Its edges, internal clouds and subtle colour will look different. A good display lets these changes become part of the experience.
02DISPLAY
Give a natural object room to breathe.
A small collection becomes more expressive when each piece has a little space around it. Begin with a neutral surface and one or two contrasting forms. Keep the background quiet, vary the height and let daylight change the composition.
Inside a crystal, small fractures, mineral traces and veils can catch the light in unexpected ways. These natural features help tell one specimen apart from another. Inspect the description and ask about any feature that matters to you.
A favourite colour, a shared place or a new chapter can be a thoughtful starting point. You do not need an elaborate explanation. A simple note about why the piece reminded you of someone can make it personal.
